Intel (INTC) CEO Paul Otellini today said the company expects PC unit sales this year to be at least flat with 2008. Speaking at an company event for developers in San Francisco, Otellini said the PC industry is “alive and well.”

Goldman Sachs earlier this week lifted its PC unit forecast for the year to flat from down 4%.

INTC today is up 10 cents, or 0.5%, to $19.64.
